Luke Carlin has been recalled from Triple-A Reno.
He will strictly serve as an emergency catcher, and has no value in NL-only leagues.
Luke Carlin will add some catching depth to the D-Backs' major league roster, as he was called up by the team on Tuesday, according to the team's insider Twitter page.
Carlin will be the team's third catcher behind Miguel Montero and Chris Snyder, so don't expect him to see much playing too much. He is hitting .176 with the team this season, so they won't be rushing him into the lineup anytime soon.
Luke Carlin has been optioned to Triple-A Reno by the Diamondbacks, according to the team's Twitter page. With the activation of Chris Snyder, the team needed a roster spot, and Carlin was expendable as the team's backup catcher.
Carlin has only 17 at-bats with the team, so he will not be missed. He managed to hit .176 this season, and he drove in one and scored one as well. Snyder is the obvious better player, so Carlin is back where he belongs in Triple-A.
Luke Carlin has been recalled by the Diamondbacks from Triple-A Reno, according to the Associated Press. Chris Snyder (back strain) was placed on the 15-day DL as the adjoining move.
Carlin will see some action while providing depth at catcher in Snyder's absence, but he is a career .149 hitter in the majors, and does not merit fantasy consideration.
