Leo Rosales has been recalled by the Diamondbacks from Triple-A Reno, according to MLB.com. Doug Slaten was sent down to Reno to make room on the roster.
This marks Rosales' third stint with Arizona, and he holds a 5.40 ERA over 11 appearances. He does not look to hold much fantasy value while providing depth in the bullpen.
Leo Rosales has been optioned to Triple-A Reno by the Diamondbacks, according to the Associated Press. The club activated Chad Tracy from the DL as the adjoining move.
Rosales failed to impress the Diamondbacks enough to save his job, as he gave up 10 earned runs and six walks over 16.2 innings of relief. He won't be missed in fantasy leagues while working on his skills in the minors.
The Diamonbacks called Leo Rosales up from the minors today, according to MLB.com.
He'll be used out of the bullpen, where he's compiled a 5.40 ERA and 1.27 WHIP with 10 strikeouts in 15 innings this season in his previous stint up in the majors. He fills the roster spot of the demoted Billy Buckner.
Leo Rosales recorded the save on Wednesday in the Diamondbacks' Cactus League opener.
Rosales isn't likely to be Arizona's closer in the coming season, but a perfect inning with a strikeout in Wednesday's game could certainly help him earn a roster spot.
