As has been widely expected for the past few days, Jesse Chavez has been traded to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Rafael Soriano, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.
In 88 major league appearances, spanning 82.1 innings, Chavez has a 4.48 ERA to go along with 63 strikeouts.
Jesse Chavez is being dealt from the Pirates to the Rays in exchance for Akinori Iwamura, according to MLB.com.
The 26-year-old hurler held a 4.01 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 67.1 innings of relief with Pittsburgh in 2009. He gave up 11 homers as well, meaning he won't likely be reliable for Tampa Bay or fantasy owners.
Jesse Chavez has made the Pirates' opening day roster, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The 25-year-old fired 16 strikeouts over 15 innings in 2008, but held a poor 1.93 WHIP. He does not merit fantasy consideration as a reliever outside of deeper NL-only leagues.
