Newsbreakers

August 1, 2009

Tim Dillard has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. He was sent down to make room for Claudio Vargas on the roster.

Our View:

Dillard failed to prove his worth to the Brewers, as he allowed six runs, seven hits and five walks over 4.1 innings of relief. He worked as a starter in the minors, but held no fantasy value while in the bullpen.

July 27, 2009

Tim Dillard is fine with his bullpen role with Milwaukee right now, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View:

Dillard has been starting all year with Triple-A Nashville, but does not mind that the Brewers are going with Carlos Villanueva instead of him for Tuesday's start against Washington. Dillard was 10-4 with a 3.66 ERA in the minors prior to being recalled by Milwaukee, and is still worth holding in NL-only leagues as a flier despite currently working out of the bullpen.

July 25, 2009

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Brewers have called up right-hander Tim Dillard from Triple-A.

Our View:

Dillard replaces Seth McClung, who landed on the DL on Saturday, and will likely start Tuesday's game. Dillard was 10-4 with a 3.66 ERA in the Pacific Coast League and has solid stuff. He could be a nice grab in NL-only leagues.

January 29, 2009

The Brewers signed Tim Dillard to a one-year deal on Thursday, according to Milwaukee's official site.

Our View:

Dillard spent most of the 2008 season at Triple-A Nashville, but did make 13 appearances for the Brewers. He posted a 4.40 ERA over 14.1 innings and thus did not have any fantasy value. He will compete this spring for a spot in their bullpen.

June 20, 2008

Pitcher Tim Dillard has been optioned to Triple-A Nashville, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The team recalled lefty Mitch Stetter, as an adjoining move.

Our View:

Dillard could not record three outs with a 9-1 lead in the ninth on Thursday, as he allowed four earned runs over 2/3 of an inning, which led to today's demotion.
