Felipe Paulino allowed just one run in five innings on Thursday, helping the Astros beat the National League East champion Phillies 5-3 on the road.
Astoundingly, the outing only lowered his ERA to 6.27. With just three wins in 17 starts this season, Paulino almost surely doesn't figure into Houston's 2010 plans.
Felipe Paulino got leveled by the Reds on Saturday. He allowed eight runs on nine hits and four walks over just five innings in the 10-4 loss.
Paulino is now just 2-11 on the season and has lost seven consecutive decisions. He was pitching relatively well in September before Saturday's meltdown though, with a 3.52 ERA despite the 0-4 mark.
Felipe Paulino dropped his record to 2-10 on the season with Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Brewers. Paulino went six innings and allowed four earned runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out seven.
Paulino didn't get any run support today, and his seven strikeouts were pretty impressive. He has been pitching better as of late, but the 2-10 record doesn't lie. For the most part, he has struggled this season.
Felipe Paulino had a third consecutive strong start on Sunday. He only lasted five innings but held the Pirates to one run on six hits and a walk and fanned seven in the 2-1 loss.
Paulino took the loss, but deserved better as he watched his record fall to 2-9. He has now allowed just five runs over his last three outings, spanning 17 innings.
Felipe Paulino turned in his second straight quality start on Tuesday night, but still fell to 2-8 on the season, as Atlanta beat the Astros 2-1 at home.
Paulino's ERA now rests at 6.34 after his second straight "quality" start. Could lightning strike a third time next time out? Don't try to impress anyone trying to find out.
