The Marlins have optioned outfielder Brett Carroll to Triple-A New Orleans.
Carroll is good on defense and can hammer lefties, but he is caught in a numbers game. The Marlins simply don't have room for him.
Brett Carroll led the Marlins offensively in Monday's 4-0 win over the Giants, as he went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer. He also hit a triple and a single.
Carroll had a big night while starting the game in right field, but his fantasy value remains limited as a reserve.
According to the Miami Herald, the Marlins sent Brett Carroll back to Triple-A after the team lost it's fifth straight game on Friday.
Carroll was dismissed to make room for Andrew Miller, who will get the start in today's game. For his part, Carroll was just 3-for-21 on the season.
