Newsbreakers

July 4, 2009

Emilio Bonifacio was 3-for-4 with a steal and two runs scored on Saturday, as the Marlins beat the Pirates 5-3 at home.

Our View:

Bonifacio has leveled off dramatically after his amazing start, and isn't worth an own anymore unless you really need his steals.

June 20, 2009

According to MLBlogs.com, Emilio Bonifacio is back in the lineup and hitting second for the Marlins on Saturday.

Our View:

Bonifacio sat out Friday in favor of Wes Helms, but is back on the clipboard for today's game. He'll have a tough task ahead of him though as he faces the Yankess' hard-throwing A.J. Burnett.

June 16, 2009

Emilio Bonifacio stole his first base since June 6 on Tuesday night.

Our View:

After exploding out of the gates in 2009, Bonifacio has come painfully back to earth. He is worth a roster spot if you are in dire need of speed, but has little other value unless you crave called strikeouts.

June 12, 2009

Emilio Bonifacio has been dropped to ninth in the Marlins' batting order for interleague play at Toronto, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View:

Bonifacio has a hit in three straight games, but only has a .294 OBP for the season - which is likely why he is being moved to the bottom of the order.

June 9, 2009

Emilio Bonifacio carried the Marlins in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Cardinals as he went 2-for-3 with three RBI. He hit a single and a double.

Our View:

Bonifacio enjoyed a strong night at the plate, but has not been consistent enough to consider for fantasy duty outside of NL-only leagues.
