Newsbreakers

December 15, 2009

Adam Lind has won the Edgar Martinez Outstanding DH Award, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:

Lind earned the honor by batting .305 with 35 homers, 114 RBI and 46 doubles in 2009. The 26-year-old also claimed a Silver Slugger award for his breakout campaign.

October 3, 2009

Adam Lind (elbow) will attempt to return to the Jays lineup tonight, according to the Toronto Sun.

Our View:

He has been out since Jonathan Papelbon hit him in the elbow with a pitch on Tuesday. With there being only two games left in the season, he'll likely play through the pain and suit up tonight.

October 1, 2009

MLB.com is reporting that Adam Lind could be out until Friday with a sore elbow after being hit by a Jonathan Papelbon pitch on Tuesday. Lind was not in the Blue Jays' lineup on Wednesday, and he isn't expected to play Thursday either.

Our View:

The X-rays came back negative on Lind's elbow, so expect him to return to the lineup in another day or two. He is coming off a three home run performance in his last outing, so hopefully the time off won't cool him down.

September 29, 2009

Adam Lind went 3-for-4 with four RBI in tonight's 8-7 win at Boston. He impressively swatted three homers, with two off Clay Buchholz and the other Takashi Saito.

Our View:

Lind blasted eight homers this month, and leads the Jays with 35. He also continues to pace the club with 114 RBI in his breakout season.

September 27, 2009

Despite hitting two home runs on Saturday, Adam Lind is being given the day off on Sunday.

Our View:

It's simply a day off rest for the Jays' burgeoning young power hitter. Randy Ruiz is taking his place at DH.
