Newsbreakers
September 24, 2008
The AP reports that Ryan Zimmerman missed Wednesday's game against Florida with the flu.

Our View:Flu's can linger so don't be surprised if this shuts down the fragile Zimmerman for the rest of the season.
September 21, 2008
Ryan Zimmerman went 2-for-4, homered, and drove in two runs, but was the only source of offense as the Nationals lost to San Diego, 6-2.

Our View:Zimmerman is ending his season nicely, and fantasy owners should be taking notice as they think about next year.
September 18, 2008
Washington third baseman Ryan Zimmerman went 3-for-5, but left two men in scoring position as the Nationals fell to the Mets, 7-2.

Our View:Zimmerman has had a solid month, hitting over .304, but his power has been lacking all season. He hit four home runs in 11 games during late August and early September, but only has 12 this season.
September 3, 2008
Ryan Zimmerman was 2-for-4 with a home run Wednesday night against Philadelphia.

Our View:Zimmerman now has a nine-game hitting streak. During his streak he has shown plenty of power with three home runs and four doubles.
September 1, 2008
Ryan Zimmerman led the Nationals, the team with the worst record in baseball, to their 7th straight victory on Monday as he hit a two run home run.

Our View:Zimmerman reach 10 home runs with the blast, less than half the total of 22 that he has averaged the past two seasons. Still, his home run pace this season is similar to what he produced last season (one per 33.8 AB this season and one per 27.2 last year). He now has six RBI in his last five games as he continues to struggle through his injury concerns.
