Alex Gordon went 2-for-4, hit his 16th home run and drove in two runners in the Royals 5-0 victory over the Tigers on Tuesday.

Our View:Gordon has been playing well since his return from injury, and is now hitting over .300 for the month.

Alex Gordon went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 5-2 win over the White Sox.

Our View:Gordon tied his career-high with 15 homers, and has extended his hitting streak to five games. He is hitting well right now and is worth consideration in AL-only leagues for the last week of the season.

The Royals are trying to work Alex Gordon back into the lineup, but the weather has prevented them from doing so, according to the KC Star. "We really wanted to get him out and allow him to run the bases (in pregame drills)," Hillman said. "We can't do that (because of the weather). If he is utilized in a pinch-hitting role, and this rain stays like it's projected to stay, we'll probably pinch-run for him if he reaches base. We want him to get the game time from the development aspect but not at the expense of possibly injuring him on a bad surface."

Our View:Gordon, who has been out since August 21st with a torn hip flexor, would be limited to pinch hitting when he returns.

Alex Gordon was activated from the DL according to the AP. He had been out since August 21st with a torn hip flexor.

Our View:Even with a hot finish, this season will be viewed as a major disappointment for Gordon who is hitting just .254-14-51 in 448 AB.

Alex Gordon (hip flexor tear) went through a third day of full workouts on Wednesday and reported no setbacks at all, according to the Kansas City Star. “I’m good to go,” he said. “[Manager Trey Hillman] just said he didn’t want me to (return) on (artificial) turf because of possible injuries.”

Our View:Out since August 21st, the team is targeting a return of Gordon to the lineup on Saturday. Mark Teahan, who has started 15 of the last 17 games at the hot corner, will move back to the outfield with Gordon reclaiming his third base spot. Even with a hot finish, this season will be viewed as a major disappointment for Gordon who is hitting just .254-14-51 in 448 AB.
