Jorge Campillo has been placed on the 15-day DL for the second time this season due to shoulder problems, according to the
Campillo has battled shoulder problems since coming out of the WBC. In five relief appearances, Campillo has posted a 4.15 ERA and a 2.31 WHIP. He was a surprising starter for the Braves last season and was expected to be a part of their rotation this year.
Campillo is a big part of the Braves bullpen, which has not gotten off to the best start. Hopefully he can get back into form and return to health to help bolster a strong starting rotation.
Jorge Campillo was rocked for three earned runs on five hits over two innings of work in Thursday's 8-7 win over the Astros, with two walks and one strikeout.
Campillo held a 1.24 WHIP over 158.2 innings in 2008, and is expected to earn a spot in the middle of the Braves' rotation, despite today's tough first outing of the preseason.
Jorge Campillo only allowed two earned runs on five hits over six innings in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Mets, with two walks and two strikeouts.
Campillo claimed his first win since August 8th, and allowed less than three earned runs for the first time since August 3rd. He should not be considered for fantasy lineups for the last week of the season despite his solid outing tonight.
Jorge Campillo allowed eight hits and walk in just 3.1 innings on Sunday, and though he allowed four runs (three earned), he was able to emerge with a no-decision thanks to the Braves offense.
Campillo emerged from the game with a solid 3.79 ERA, but that mark has now gone up in each of his last eight starts (from a low of 2.58 on August 3rd). He is taking on water as the season nears its completion.
