Our View:

The homer was Morales' 30th this season. In his other three years of big league service, he hit a grand total of 12. Not sure where the power came from, but it's hard to argue with the results. He now has 94 RBI on the season as well.

Put the kids to bed because Kendry Morales was disgusting on Friday night. The emerging slugger went 5-for-5 with a pair of homer and six RBI in the Angels 11-7 win over the A's.

July 26, 2009

Kendry Morales' fourth inning solo home run provided the Halos only run on Sunday, as the Twins scored early and often in their 10-1 victory.

Morales drove in a run in all three games against the Twins this weekend, and has done an admirable job of picking up the Angels' offensive slack while both Torii Hunter and Vladimir Guerrero are out.

Kendry Morales hit his 15th home run of the season on Friday, leading a Vlad and Torii-less Angel lineup, as the Halos beat the Yanks 10-6 at home.

Our View:

Kendry's going to have to hit a lot of three run bombs the next two weeks to keep the Angels offense going without their two outfield stars. He is not a bad option at first base or utility.

Kendry Morales was 3-for-5 with two home runs, three RBI, and three runs scored as the Angels defeated the Mariners 10-6 on Monday.

May 7, 2009

Kendry Morales hit his fifth home run of the season in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Blue Jays. He finished the night 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Our View:

Morales also struck out once giving him 20 whiffs against just six walks. While his OBP is mediocre, you have to like the .531 slugging percentage. Morales should only get better going forward.

May 2, 2009

First baseman Kendry Morales went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, two RBI, and a walk in Saturday's win over the Yankees.

Our View:

Morales has been swinging pretty well lately, which is no surprise given his minor league track record. He isn't going to turn into a star, but Kendry is looking like a decent utility option in larger mixed leagues.

April 29, 2009

First baseman Kendry Morales went 2-for-4 with a triple, homer, and two RBI in Wednesday's win over the Orioles. He has multiple hits in five of his last six games.

Our View:

Morales has spent the last few years smoking the ball in the minors, and this little hot streak isn't at all surprising. We wondered about his ability to hit for power, but he is off to a pretty good start with three homers and seven doubles this month.

April 23, 2009

Kendry Morales had a huge night at the dish on Wednesday, going 2-for-5 with a home run and five RBI, but the Angels still lost to the Tigers 12-10.

Our View:

Morales has had a slow start to the season, but he is hitting in a decent lineup and he is right in the middle of it. The RBI opportunity should be there, but it remains to be seen if he can take advantage.

March 30, 2009

Kendry Morales went 3-for-4 with three RBI, a double, and a run scored in the Angels 13-3 win over the White Sox on Monday. He is now hitting .394 through 71 spring at-bats.

Our View:

Morales will be the everyday first baseman for the Angels this season, and he figures to hit sixth behind Bobby Abreu, Vladimir Guerrero, and Torii Hunter. He could see a lot of RBI opportunities fall his way. He has always produced excellent numbers in the minors and he should provide very good value for his low draft position.

March 21, 2009

Kendry Morales was 1-for-3 with a home run on Saturday. He is hitting .391 this spring.

Our View:

Morlaes is slated as the every day first baseman in LA. It's uncertain what his production will be like since he's never been given consistent at-bats, but he has the tools. If he blossoms and you snag him late it could be the steal of the draft.

March 13, 2009

Kendry Morales was 2-for-3 with four RBI Friday against the Cubs. One of the hits was his first home run of the spring.

Our View:

Morales has never hit more than five home runs in a season during his three years of limited duty, so it will be interesting to see how he fares while getting the chance to play full-time with the Angels in 2009.

Kendry Morales will play first base in 2009 with a combo of Juan Rivera, Gary Matthews, Jr., and Reggie Willits working in left field and at DH, according to BaseballProspectus.com.

Our View:

GM Tony Reagins believes it is time to give their promising young players regular playing time, like Morales. Morales looks to be a nice sleeper for AL-only leagues, and potentially mixed leagues as well.

January 13, 2009

Kendry Morales is leading Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican winter league with a .357 average and four home runs in the team's 10 playoff games.

Our View:

Morales hasn't done a lot with his playing time with the Angels thus far, but it looks like he could finally be in line for an everyday job this season. He is a nice sleeper in AL-only play and could end up being a mixed league option, as well.
