Newsbreakers

August 18, 2009

According to the Arizona Republic, Conor Jackson left his Single-A rehab assignment due to Valley Fever.

Our View:

Jackson just can't seem to shake this and is heading back to the doctor. All his previous symptoms are reoccurring and apparently this issue isn't with how Jackson is feeling during the games, but what's plaguing him all day long.

August 16, 2009

Conor Jackson was 0-for-10 in his first three rehab games with Single-A Visalia, accoriding to MLB.com. Jackson needed a day off due to fatigue after the third game.

Our View:

Jackson is still fairly weak due to his bout with Valley Fever, and three games was enough to wear him out. He still has a long way to go before he is ready to return, so don't expect much fantasy production out of him this season.

August 11, 2009

According to MLB.com, Diamondbacks' outfielder Conor Jackson is set to begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday at Single-A Visalia. Jackson will serve as the team's DH on Tuesday and Wednesday before taking a day off. He will then move back to the outfield.

Our View:

Jackson is going to use all the time he is allowed in the minors to prepare for a return to the D-Backs, and he could join the team in September. He hasn't played since May 11, but he could provide an emotional boost to the struggling team.

August 7, 2009

The Arizona Republic is reporting that Diamondbacks' outfielder Conor Jackson has increased his running in recent days and that he could be close to beginning a rehab assignment. Jackson has been out since early May with Valley fever.

Our View:

The team hopes that Jackson can begin his rehab assignment next week in Class A, but he will likely need a decent amount of minor league games before he is ready to return. Don't expect much fantasy production out of Jackson this season, but it will be nice to see him back after dealing with the serious illness.

July 23, 2009

According to the Arizona Republic, Conor Jackson is making progress towards a rehab assignment.

Our View:

Jackson, out with Valley fever early May, has been lifting weights and taking part in cardiovascular activities. He will be reevaluated later today. Assuming he is well enough to make a rehab assignment, he will likely rejoin the team before the end of the season.
