Edwin Jackson has been dealt from the Tigers to the Diamondbacks in part of the three-way deal also involving the Yankees, according to USA Today.
The deal sends Curtis Granderson from Detroit to New York, with the Tigers getting Austin Jackson and Phil Coke from New York and Max Scherzer and Daniel Schlereth from Arizona. Arizona received Ian Kennedy from New York, along with Jackson. Both Comerica Park (Detroit) and Chase Field (Arizona) are considered hitter-friendly stadiums, so no real change there, but the move should detract from Jackson's value at least somewhat given that he'll receive less offensive support from the D'backs than he got in Detroit. Also keeping in mind that Jackson logged a 5.07 ERA and 1.53 WHIP after the All-Star break last year, it wouldn't be surprising to see him end up as a fantasy bust in 2010.
Edwin Jackson has been involved in a plethora of rumors at today's winter meetings, though Detroit's asking price is apparently very high, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
Not surprisingly, Detroit is setting the bar high and will see if anybody bites. It's unknown just how much the Tigers are truly willing to part ways with Jackson or if they're simply seeing if anyone is willing to pay for his excellent first half of the season, but it certainly wouldn't come as a shock to see him moved in the next few days.
Edwin Jackson's name has apparently been a hot topic at the MLB's winter meetings, according to the USA Today's Bob Nightengale.
Jackson seems like he'd be a nice sell-high player for the Tigers after he bucked his career trends and pitched wonderfully most of last year, but he fell off a bit toward the end. The Mariners have apparently shown interest, and we'll have to wait and see if any other teams bite.
According to Sports Illustrated's Jon Heyman, the Mariners rejected a trade offer of Detroit's Edwin Jackson for Brandon Morrow and Shawn Kelley.
The M's are believed to covet Jackson, but Detroit's asking price is simply too high right now. As the Tigers get more desperate to slash payroll, expect them to lower their demands.

The Mariners remain interested in acquiring Tigers' starting pitcher Edwin Jackson, according to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated.
Jackson is due a raise from his $2.3 million 2009 salary, and the Tigers don't seem willing to pay it. With the Mariners more competitive than expected in 2009, they could be going for it in 2010. Pitching in Seattle's very spacious Safeco Park, much like Detroit's Comerica Park, Jackson could have another big season were he to be shipped to the Northwest.
The Mariners are believed to be interested in Tigers' hurler Edwin Jackson, according to FOX Sports.
The two sides have talked, but nothing serious developed as of yet. The Mariners would use Jackson as a complement to ace Felix Hernandez, and he could benefit from playing his home game at pitcher-friendly Safeco if a deal is ultimately worked out.
