Our View:
2009 represented a disappointing follow up to two pretty good seasons for Guthrie. After posting ERA totals of 3.70 and 3.63 in 2007 and 2008 respectively he finished this year with a depressing 5.04 mark.

The Yankees were too much for Jeremy Guthrie on Sunday, but that's nothing new. The right-hander allowed five runs on 12 hits and three walks over just 5.2 innings in a 13-3 loss.
Our View:
Guthrie is now 10-14 on the season and sports a 5.06 ERA. Last season he was 10-12, but the ERA was significantly better at 3.63. He's been a disappointment to say the least.

Guthrie has a hard time putting together back to back solid starts, so you may want to bench him his next time out. Before Friday's outing he allowed seven runs over just 5.2 innings. Something to think about.

Guthrie has had just two quality starts in the last two months and his ERA sits at an unhealthy 5.66. He's a risky fantasy play in any format at this point.

Guthrie now has a 5.21 ERA on the season, and despite a strong start on July 19th he's been bad pretty much all year. A few solid outings spread across four months isn't enough to keep him in fantasy rotations.

Jeremy Guthrie was very impressive on Sunday in the Orioles' 10-2 win over the White Sox. Guthrie went eight innings and allowed two runs on three hits while walking one and striking out five. Guthrie is now 7-8 on the year.
Our View:
Guthrie's ERA is still at 5.12 after this start, which shows that days like this are the exception rather than the rule. He has it in him to produce on regular basis, but he just hasn't found a way to put it together every time out. Pitching for the O's doesn't help much either, however.

FoxSports.com is reporting that the Orioles are prepared to trade starter Jeremy Guthrie if the right opportunity arises. The team has said that they would only be willing to move Guthrie if they receive an overwhelming offer from another team.
Our View:
Guthrie has been very good at times for the Orioles this season, but he is inconsistent. Given the right opportunity, he could be a good fantasy pitcher, but it is doubtful the O's move him this season. He is still fairly inexpensive, so the team would have to get a very serious offer to even think about a trade. It is doubtful someone would be willing to give up enough to satisfy the O's.

Guthrie wasn't terrible tonight, but he is still giving up too many home runs. Guthrie gave up back-to-back-to-back home runs in the second to Swisher, Cano, and Cabrera. Guthrie continues to underachieve, and until he proves he can put together consistent starts he should not be owned.

Guthrie has been sub par this season, but he showed some perseverance after getting down early today. The eight Ks were a surprising bonus for fantasy owners as he was sporting just a 4.79 K/9 coming into the game.

Guthrie was solid in his first start, but this one put him over the top. He looks sharp, but beware of the O's early season push. It usually evaporates after April and the team falls apart. Guthrie would likely fall with them.

Guthrie has been awful for Baltimore since returning from the World Baseball Classic, as he looked equally helpless against Minnesota on Monday. He's the only semi-reliable starter on Baltimore's staff, so for the sake of the Orioles having a rotation ERA that doesn't reach double digits, they have to hope Guthrie can get past his issues by Opening Day.
