The Rangers reportedly inquired about Rays' outfielder B.J. Upton, according to Buster Olney's (ESPN)
Texas asked about Upton during their off-season routine, but talks are not believed to be ongoing. Upton would not come cheap, even following a disappointing 2009 campaign.
B.J. Upton had a big night at the plate in a 13-4 win over the Yankees at Tropicana Field, as he went 5-for-5 with six RBI and three runs scored. He hit two singles with a double, triple and a two-run homer off Jonathan Albaladejo.
Upton was a big disappointment in 2009, but looked great tonight in his bid to end the season on a high note.

Upton has massive amounts of potential, but he has failed to put it all together for an entire season. He has battled injuries and slumps, but he showed in last year's postseason that when he does what he is capable of, he can be an elite player. If the Rays do move him, they better get plenty in return for the young player with all the tools to become a star.
