Jorge Cantu left Saturday's game with a sprained right ankle.
He finished the game 1-for-2 with an RBI and reached the century mark for runs batted in for the first time since 2005. Cantu was replaced by Nick Johnson at first base and will likely miss Sunday's game as well.
Jorge Cantu helped carry the Marlins in tonight's 7-2 win at Philadelphia, as he went 1-for-3 with a single and three RBI.
Cantu has five RBI over his last three games, and is one away from 100 for 2009.
Jorge Cantu went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI on Wednesday, helping the Marlins to a 5-4 victory in Atlanta.
Cantu is now hitting .288 on the season. His RBI on Wednesday was 96th of the season, besting his 2008 total by one.
Jorge Cantu went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in the Marlins 9-6 win over the Mets on Saturday.
Cantu is coming on like gangbusters down the strecth. He's hitting .343 this month with 23 RBI and has nine hits and five RBI in his last three games.
Among Jorge Cantu's four hits on Wednesday night was a game-winning single off beleaguered Phillies closer Brad Lidge, as the Marlins won 6-5 at home.
Cantu is now batting .283 with 91 RBI this season, and a big reason why the Marlins were in competition for a playoff spot for much of the year.
