Garrett Atkins acknowledged that he will likely not be back with the Rockies next season, according to the
Atkins has been a regular for the Rockies up until this season, and he will welcome a new start elsewhere in 2010. If he can put together a nice performance or two in the postseason, he should get plenty of interest this winter.
Garrett Atkins hit his ninth homer of the season and first since August 14th in a 5-1 win over the Reds on Thursday. The two-run shot came in the third inning off Kip Wells and was his only hit in four trips.
Atkins has been playing more due to Ian Stweart's injury, but hasn't really made the most of it. He's just 2-for-10 in his last three starts.
The
Tracy seems convinced that Atkins can do good things when in the lineup, and he has come through a bit as of late. Atkins should be owned in NL-only leagues for the rest of the way, but he is still not a good mixed league candidate.
Garrett Atkins had a nice night for the Rockies on Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, and four RBI in the 8-3 win. Atkins is now hitting .230 on the season.
Atkins has not found a way to break out of his season-long slump, but he is still capable of having big nights like this. Unfortunately, these nights have been few and far between, making Atkins a terrible fantasy play in nearly any format. There are better options out there, so no need to hold on hope that Atkins will finally break out.
Garrett Atkins went 1-for-4 with a double, and recorded the Rockies' lone RBI in tonight's 3-1 loss to the Giants at Coors Field.
Atkins was productive tonight, but is only batting .214 with no homers and five RBI over 28 at-bats this month.
