The Mariners have re-signed Ryan Langerhans to a one-year contract, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Langerhans could compete for the starting gig in left field, though it's unlikely he'd be able to hold down an everyday job or garner any fantasy relevance.
The Mariners would like to retain Ryan Langerhans, according to the Tacoma News Tribune. He was recently non-tendered.
Langerhans only hit .218 over 101 at-bats with Seattle last season, and offers little speed or power.
According to the Seattle Times, Ryan Langerhans will get his first start as a Mariner in Thursday's contest against the Yankees.
Langerhans is starting in left field, but has the arduous task of going against Yankee ace, CC Sabathia. He figures to get the majority of the starts in left with a righty on the mound, but the reason he's going against the lefty (Sabathia) tonight is, the team wanted to get him into big league action as soon as possible. Langerhans may be worth a look in deep AL-only leagues, but nothing more.
Ryan Langerhans has been recalled by the Mariners from Triple-A Tacoma, according to the Associated Press. Adrian Beltre was placed on the 15-day DL as the adjoining move.
Langerhans is solid with his glove, but is a career .233 hitter, and is not likely going to generate much power at pitcher-friendly Safeco Field. He is only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues.
According to MASN Sports, the Nationals have traded outfielder Ryan Langerhans to the Mariners for infielder Mike Morse.
Langerhans has not played in the majors this season, but the Mariners need help with Endy Chavez out for the season. He is excellent defensively and will likely split time in the outfield with Wladimir Balentien. In Triple-A this season Langerhans' line was .278/.371/.488.
