Our View:
He was no longer needed following Ivan Rodriguez's activation from the DL. Look for Burke to clear waivers and to return to Washington's minor league system.

The Nationals have called up Jamie Burke from the minors, according to USA Today.
Our View:
He had been hitting .278 for Triple-A Syracuse this season and is a career .277 hitter in the majors. He'll platoon with Wil Nieves until either Ivan Rodriguez or Carlos Maldonado are activated from the DL.
