Rios is hitting just .133 with no homers and four RBI in his last eight games, and the struggles just keep on coming. Rios could be a candidate for a breakout second half, but right now he is killing fantasy owners. If you have another suitable option, you may want to sit Rios until he heats up.
According to the
Rios' recent struggles (eight for his last 38) and altogether disappointing season have pushed him further and further down in the lineup. Many pundits were predicting a breakout season for Rios, expecting him to finally "put it all together" but he's done the opposite. The fantasy frustration looks likely to continue.
Alex Rios was perfect at the dish on Saturday, but it wasn't enough as the Blue Jays fell to the Marlins by a score of 6-5. Rios went 4-for-4 with a home run, a stolen base, two runs scored, and two RBI.
Rios is starting to show the ability that everyone has expected from him all year. Today was a perfect example of is ability to hit for average, power, and steal bases. Obviously you can't expect days like this very often, but don't be shocked if he starts to be very good on a regular basis.
Alex Rios had an afternoon to forget on Thursday in the Blue Jays' 6-5 loss to the Angels. Rios went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts in the game. When asked to comment, manager Cito Gaston replied: "If he doesn't watch it, they might call his cell tonight. That's how much they had his number."
Wow, and you thought you had a rough day at the office. Not only did Rios strike out five times, but then he gets burned by his manager afterward. Rios has been hitting well as of late, so this is just an off day. Expect him to bounce back this weekend.
Alex Rios went 1-for-4 with a solo homer in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Angels at the Rogers Centre.
Rios extended his hitting streak to seven games, with two homers and five RBI over the span.
