According to Jeff Blair on Twitter, a baseball source reports that it is a 90 percent certainty that Lyle Overbay will be dealt at the Winter Meetings.
Our View:
Overbay stands to make $7 million next season and is nearly 33-years-old. Just because Toronto wants to unload him that doesn't mean it will be easy or cheap for them. He put up a disappointing 265/.372/.466 line last season and the Jays would likely have to eat some of his salary to find a taker.

Lyle Overbay may soon be traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to the Toronto Star.
Our View:
The D-Backs lack depth at first base, while Toronto would like to shift Adam Lind there. Overbay made his major league debut with Arizona back in 2001. At age 32, he is a career .279 hitter in over 3,300 at-bats.

Our View:
Overbay now reached at least 30 doubles for the sixth straight season. He has five hits over his last three games.

Lyle Overbay was productive in tonight's 6-4 loss at Texas, as he went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. He hit a single and a solo homer off Tommy Hunter.
Our View:
Overbay launched his 14th homer of 2009, and the 100th of his career. He has a hit in each of his last three games.

Lyle Overbay went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-2 loss at Texas in the second game of their doubleheader.
Our View:
Overbay ended a three-game skid without an RBI, and has 53 for 2009. He continues to perform well after batting .329 in August.

Lyle Overbay's ninth inning RBI single brought the Blue Jays within one of the Red Sox on Saturday night, but that would be as close as they would get in a 3-2 loss in Boston.
Our View:
Overbay is still a respectable AL-only first baseman with a triple crown line of .274/13/52 in 2009.

Our View:
Overbay is hitting .380 over 21 at-bats this month, after holding an anemic .227 average in July. He is worth consideration for fantasy lineups right now.

The Blue Jays would reportedly like to trade Lyle Overbay prior to the July 31 deadline, according to FOX Sports.
Our View:
Overbay is slated to earn $7MM in 2009 and 2010, and has a no-trade clause in his contract. The Giants were in the market for a corner infielder, but may no longer consider Overbay after adding Ryan Garko from Cleveland.

Our View:
Overbay has been decent this season, but he isn't a huge fantasy contributor, especially in the power category. He could be an option in AL-only leagues, but his production is probably not good enough for mixed league competition.

Lyle Overbay is not in the Blue Jays' starting lineup for their Monday afternoon game against the Yankees. Overbay will be replaced by Kevin Millar at first base.
Our View:
This looks like a routine day off for Overbay, but if anything surfaces about an injury we will let you know. He is hitting .260 this season with nine homers and 41 RBI, which are decent numbers for an Al-only league.

Lyle Overbay led the Jays offensively in Sunday's 9-4 win at Washington, as he went 3-for-5 with five RBI. He had two singles and a solo homer off Shairon Martis.
Our View:
Overbay now has 41 RBI for the season, with 18 coming so far in June. He was in need of a strong performance, as he only mustered two hits over his previous 23 at-bats.

SLAM! Sports is reporting that Blue Jays' first baseman Lyle Overbay has been named the AL Player of the Week on Monday. Overbay finished the week 8-for-15 with two home runs and eight RBI.
Our View:
Overbay was excellent last week, and he is well deserving of the award. He has pulled his average up to .302 on the year, and he is showing the ability to hit for power. AL-only owners should pick him up if he is available, and mixed leaguers may want to monitor him to see if he stays hot.

Overbay has a three-game hitting streak, with seven RBI over the span. Keep him active in fantasy lineups while he is hot.

Overbay has five dingers this season now, but is only hitting .256 and loses at bats with an opposing lefty on the mound. He's a decent bat in AL-only leagues, but nothing further.

Lyle Overbay hit a game-winning, walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the 12th inning on Saturday to give the surprising Blue Jays a 4-2 win. Overbay was 2-for-4 on the day.
Our View:
Overbay has some pop in his bat, but isn't a great fantasy play as he loses at-bats with a lefty on the mound. He doesn't produce enough as a platoon player to generate any real fantasy buzz.

The Toronto Globe and Mail reports that first baseman Lyle Overbay will miss at least the first week of exhibitions after undergoing his second sports hernia surgery earlier this week.
Our View:
This will certainly be a setback for Overbay, who does not project as a strong fantasy starter at his position. He hit .270 with 15 home runs and 69 RBI last season. he will now have to use this spring to get in shape as well as to get his game in order.
