Cesar Izturis has been activated from the DL, according to TSN. Pitcher David Hernandez was optioned to Double-A Bowie to make room on the roster.

Our View:

Izturis should return to his starting role at shortstop, but does not hit well enough to consider outside of deeper fantasy leagues.

According to MLB.com, injured Orioles' shortstop Cesar Izturis is expected to begin his rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie on Tuesday. The team is hoping that he can play Tuesday and Wednesday in the minors and be ready to rejoin the team Thursday.

Our View:

Izturis will have to be 100 percent before the O's bring him back, but if all goes well over the next two days it seems very possible he could be in the lineup on Friday. He doesn't hold much fantasy value, but if there is still anyone out there utilizing him you should be prepared to activate him later this week.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Orioles' shortstop Cesar Izturis took live batting practice before Friday's game and is expected to go out on a rehab assignment in the next few days. Izturis is still recovering from an appendectomy.

Our View:

Izturis will probably need a decent amount of time in the minors before he returns, so it looks like it will still be a few weeks before he rejoins the team. He will hold no fantasy value upon his return, so no need to give him a look.

The Baltimore Sun is reporting that Orioles' shortstop Cesar Izturis is not expected to be ready to return until late July at the earliest. Izturis is recovering from an appendectomy on June 5.

Our View:

Izturis was with the team last week doing some light drills, and he appears to be close to a rehab stint, however manager Dave Trembly isn't as convinced. Either way, Izturis holds very little fantasy value, and should only be considered in the deepest of AL-only leagues.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Cesar Izturis rejoined the team Wednesday and did some running in the outfield and took 20-25 swings off a tee. He's still rehabbing from his appendectomy June 5th.

Our View:

After running, swinging and throwing Izturis felt no pain, but admitted he was a little weak. The repercussions from the surgery have started to subside though and he should be able to start a rehab session in about a week.
