Chipper Jones' shoulder is feeling better, according to the Braves' official site.

Our View:Jones struggled through injuries for most of the 2008 season. However, he still managed to win the NL batting title by hitting .364, seven points higher than Albert Pujols.

Chipper Jones' MRI revealed that the pain in his shoulder is a result of acute tendinitis according to MLB.com. He was prescribed a few weeks of rest and a strength program for the 36-year-old third baseman, who won his first career batting title on Sunday.

Our View:This is certainly good news for Chipper. He should continue to hold his fantasy value in 2009.

Chipper Jones will have an MRI on his injured shoulder to determine what the issue is, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. "If there is something structurally wrong, let’s get in there, let’s get it taken care of so we can be as ready for spring training as possible."

Our View:Jones was limited to pinch hitting the final eight games of the season because of the shoulder issue. The team believes that there is tendinitis or bursitis in the joint but the MRI was done to rule out anything more serious. We will report the results when they are made public.
September 28, 2008
Chipper Jones walked in his only at-bat on Sunday to earn the NL batting crown according to the AP. Jones hit a career-high .364 to become the NL's first switch-hitting batting champion since Terry Pendleton won in 1991.

Our View:Chipper flirted with .400 all the way through June but a .270 July brought him down to earth. He managed just 439 at bats in 2008, the second lowest total of his career.
September 27, 2008
It looks like Chipper Jones will not start another game this year. Other than a few pinch hitting appearances Jones' 2008 season is done, according to MLB.com.

Our View:With Jones not playing much at all this weekend it looks like he will win the NL batting title with an average of .365. Some wonder how high Jones average could have been if he wouldn't have battled injuries all year.
