Newsbreakers

March 17, 2010

Adam Dunn was out of the Nats lineup again on Wednesday as he continues to deal with back spasms, according to MLB.com.

Our View:

He is day-to-day, with the Nats obviously exercising the utmost caution. His regular season status remains unaffected.

March 16, 2010

Updating a report from earlier today, Adam Dunn (back) expects to return to Washington's lineup tomorrow, according to MLB.com's William Ladson.

Our View:

Dunn was forced to make an early exit from today's game after experiencing back spasms, but it looks like they're nothing to worry about. Continue to draft him as you would have before hearing this news.

March 16, 2010

Adam Dunn left in the second inning of today's game with lower back spasms, according to the Nationals' Twitter page.

Our View:

Dunn is being listed as day-to-day for now. This doesn't seem like anything too serious, and we'll be sure to have more details as they emerge.

February 20, 2010

The Nationals have been talking to Adam Dunn about an extension, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View:

The team would like to sign the slugger to an extension, but GM Mike Rizzo did not comment on how negotiations have been going. Dunn is eligible to become a free agent after the 2010 campaign.

January 29, 2010

According to the Washington Post, the Nationals and Adam Dunn started preliminary talks Friday for a contract extension.

Our View:

Apparently both sides would like to come to an agreement that would keep the slugging outfielder in Washington, but this is just the opening stage so there is no reason to get excited yet. Last season Dunn hit a career high .267 with 38 homers and 105 RBI.
