The veteran infielder will turn 37 in April and only batted .247 in 2009, but the Astros like his defensive skills as a utility man.

The Astros only had six hits in the game, and Blum was their lone source of scoring. He snapped a four-game skid without an RBI, and needs one more for 50.

Blum was scratched from Wednesday's game against the Cardinals with shoulder spasms. No word on whether a DL stint is looming, but at 36, Blum is no spring chicken. We'll know more after his visit to the doc.

Geoff Blum went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI in the Astros' 4-2 win on Saturday. Blum is hitting .263 on the season.

Blum has had a big month of August, and he has been making the most of his playing time as of late. He still isn't much of a fantasy threat, but he has been big for the Astros over he past few weeks.
