According to the Mercury News, the San Francisco Giants have informed outfielder Randy Winn that he should seek employment elsewhere for next season. Winn has said that he would like to return to the team next season, but they have no interest in bringing him back.
Winn has to be a bit disappointed, as he made no secret about the fact that he loved playing with the team. He wants an everyday starting job, and there won't be one available for him with the Giants. He doesn't figure to make a fantasy impact regardless of where he ends up next year.
MLB.com is reporting that Randy Winn would like to return to San Francisco next season. Winn will be a free-agent this winter, but the Giants appear interested in upgrading their outfield, specifically with a power-hitter.
Winn loves it in San Fran, but it seems unlikely that he will be back next season. The Giants need more offense, and it seems unlikely Winn would sign there to come off the bench. He hit only .262 with two homers and 51 RBI last season, so his best fantasy days look to be behind him.
According to the San Jose Mercury News, Randy Winn is not in Friday's starting lineup.
Winn is just getting a day off as the Giants are shuffling their outfield around. Nate Schierholtz will get the start in his place. Adjust your lineups accordingly.
Randy Winn's tenth inning single provided the only run of the game on Wednesday, as the Giants outlasted the Pirates 1-0 in ten innings.
Yikes. One run against the Pirates with Matt Cain going. Could be the final straw that compels to the Giants to get Pittsburgh's Freddy Sanchez.
Leadoff man Randy Winn went 2-for-3 on Tuesday, but the Giants offense did little else, as San Francisco got pummeled 8-1 by the Braves.
Winn has only two home runs in 2009, but has managed to drive in 39 runs. He has very limited value in most mixed leagues.
Randy Winn was productive in tonight's 11-3 loss at Atlanta, as he went 2-for-4 with two RBI. He hit a single and a double.
The Giants only had six hits in the game, but Winn managed to have a solid outing for fantasy owners. Winn snapped a six-game drought without an RBI, and is hitting .310 so far this month.
Randy Winn went 2-for-4 with a run scored in tonight's 2-1 win over the Padres at AT&T Park. Both of his knocks were singles.
Winn looks to be fine after leaving Friday's game after fouling a ball off his right foot.
Randy Winn exited tonight's battle with the Padres after fouling a ball off his right foot, according to the Associated Press.
Nate Schierholtz replaced him in the lineup. Further details regarding Winn's injury are yet to be disclosed.
Randy Winn went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Rangers at AT&T Park. Both of his knocks were singles.
Winn was in need of a solid outing, as he only had one hit over his previous 15 at-bats. He is only hitting .250 so far this month after hitting .314 in May.
The San Jose Mercury News reports that outfielder Randy Winn will get the day off on Thursday. The Giants square off with the Diamondbacks in a day game following the night game and Nate Schierholtz will make the start in right field.
Winn has been steady, but rather unspectacular this season. He has just two home runs, but he still has some speed at 35 years old. He's stolen eight bags and scored 31 times on the season.
Randy Winn led the Giants in Thursday's 5-1 win at Washington, as he went 1-for-4 with a two-run double.
Winn is performing well right now, as he generated an RBI in each of his last three games, with a total of four over the span. Keep him active in fantasy lineups while hot.
Randy Winn had a three hit night for the Giants on Tuesday, but he was about the only one hitting and they fell to the Padres 2-1. Winn was 3-for-4 with a double in the contest.
Winn had half of the team's six hits tonight, but they just couldn't get anything going against Padres' starter Chris Young. Winn has been better as of late, and his average now sits at .270 on the year.
Randy Winn went 4-for-6 with a double, a walk, four runs scored, and two RBI in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Dodgers. He played all three outfield positions.
Winn has not done much for his fantasy owners this season as he is hitting only .243. Still, he plays nearly every game and figures to hit better going forward. If you are desperate for an outfielder, Winn would be a solid buy-low option as he could make another push at 20 stolen bases. He has four so far in 2009.
Randy Winn exited Saturday's game against Colorado in the eighth inning after experiencing pain in his side.
Winn is optimistic the ailment is minor, but the Giants are yet to evaluate him and update his status.

Winn noted that he feels as young and as fast as ever. The 34-year-old vet is off to a poor start however, with a .221 average and 18 strikeouts over 77 at-bats.

Winn has eight extra base hits and three stolen bases already, but he is hitting only .221. He is not a very strong option at this point in most fantasy leagues, but the potential to make an impact is still there.
Randy Winn went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and a run scored as the Giants beat the Diamondbacks 5-3 on Saturday.
Winn has not provided many reasons to roster him in the early going although he does have three steals and he's hit third in the order tonight. If you're in a deep league, he could be a nice buy low candidate.
Randy Winn, who's gotten off to a hot 4-for-11 start with one home run and two stolen bases, apparently has the green light from manager Bruce Bochy to steal whenever he thinks he can, according to MLB.com. "Hitting third, it didn't give me as many opportunities," Winn said regarding last season. "Now, [manager Bruce Bochy] has said, 'If you get the opportunity and you think you can go, then go.' It's nice to get back to that."
After spending much of last season in the three-hole, Winn should remain San Francisco's everyday leadoff hitter as long as he stays healthy, which should provide for plenty of stolen base opportunities. He's converted on both attempts this season, was 25-of-27 in 2008 and 15-of-18 the year before, so it doesn't seem at all unrealistic to think that he could surpass 30 this season, even though he's never topped 27 before.
Randy Winn went 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot in Sunday's 10-9 loss to the Brewers. He finished with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored.
The veteran is only hitting .240 this spring, but he could very well make another run at .300 this season. He has stolen 40 bases over the past two seasons, and 20 more in 2009 is not out of the question.
Randy Winn is dealing with back tightness and he will rest Tuesday after playing in three straight games, according to the SF Chronicle.
The 34-year-old vet may not steal 25 bases again, but he should still be productive enough to use as a No. 5 outfielder.
Randy Winn went 0-for-2 on Sunday with a walk and a strikeout.
It was nice for Winn to reach base on Sunday, as we thought he might have forgotten what it was like since he's been held hitless this spring.
Randy Winn's rough start to the spring continued on Saturday as he went 0-for-3 for the Giants.
Winn is still hitless in the Cactus League this spring. He batted .306 last year, so fantasy owners probably shouldn't be worried, especially with five weeks left in spring training.
