Newsbreakers

November 15, 2009

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that the Twins are interested in bringing back Orlando Cabrera to play second base in 2010. Cabrera his .284 between Oakland and Minnesota last seaon.

Our View:

Cabrera made a nice impression in his stint with the Twins last season, and he might be a better fit a second base than he was at short. He can still hit, and should have no problem finding a job for next season.

October 1, 2009

Orlando Cabrera stayed hot on Thursday as the Twins beat the Tigers by a score of 8-3. Cabrera went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored, and three RBI.

Our View:

OC has now scored a run in 12 straight games, and he is a big part of the reason that the Twins are still in contention for a playoff spot. He experienced a rebirth when he was traded to Minnesota, and it looks like he has found his game back again.

September 29, 2009

Orlando Cabrera's single in the tenth inning drove in one of two Twins runs in the frame, as Minnesota came away with a dramatic 3-2 victory in the first game of a double-header in Detroit.

Our View:

Cabrera had been held hitless in his first four at-bats, but his big hit helped pull the Twins to within just one game of the Tigers for the American League central division lead. The Twins are now 8-2 in their past ten games, while the Tigers are 5-5. Cabrera is hitting a scorching .433 over that stretch.

August 5, 2009

Orlando Cabrera went 3-for-4 with a run scored in tonight's 8-1 loss at Cleveland. He hit a double and two singles.

Our View:

The Twins only mustered seven hits in the game, but Cabrera managed to have a solid night for fantasy owners. He extended his hitting streak to 15 games as well.
