Carlos Guillen had his second big night in a row on Thursday as the Tigers pulled one out against the Indians by a score of 6-5. Guillen went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and an RBI in the win.
Our View:
Guillen is 6-for-7 over the last two nights, and he has carried the offense over that time. The Tigers need all the help they can get in their race with the Twins, so a hot Guillen could be huge down the stretch.

Carlos Guillen had a big night in the Tigers' 11-3 win over the Indians at Progressive Field, as he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored. He hit a double and two homers, one off Justin Masterson and the other Mike Gosling.
Our View:
Guillen ended an 11-game drought without a homer. He was only hitting .171 over 35 at-bats this month heading into tonight's game as well.

Carlos Guillen went 1-for-4 with a single and an RBI in Tuesday's 11-1 loss to the Royals at Comerica Park.
Our View:
The Tigers only generated four hits, and Guillen was their lone source of scoring. Guillen ended a four-game slump without an RBI, and only had one hit over that span.
August 31, 2009
Carlos Guillen pounded two homers and drove in four on Monday, but it wasn't nearly enough as the Tigers fell to the Rays 11-7. Guillen was 4-for-5 in the game with three runs scored as well.
Our View:
Guillen has six homers this month, which is impressive considering he has eight on the season. He is starting to look healthy, and he looks like he could be a fantasy contributor for owners who are entering the playoffs.

Carlos Guillen went 1-for-4 with a solo homer off Ian Snell, and recorded the Tigers' lone RBI in tonight's 3-1 loss to the Mariners at Comerica Park.
Our View:
Guillen is enjoying a power surge, as he launched three homers over his last seven games. Hopefully he will continue to hit well down the stretch for fantasy owners.
