The New York Giants' attempt at defending their Super Bowl title ended on a sour note, as they failed to get out of the divisional round and were bested by their division-rival Philadelphia Eagles. Marching forward into the playoffs without their top wideout Plaxico Burress might have had a little to do with that. Based on that assumption, all eyes were on the Giants this offseason, as they seemed a logical landing place for the services of Anquan Boldin or Braylon Edwards. Listening to the way general manager Jerry Reese put it, "we never did come close to trading up or down to get Boldin or Edwards." Instead, they invested their money in youth by tabbing North Carolina's Hakeem Nicks as their first-round pick (29th overall).Associate Editor
