Winning at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September does not ensure a series title, but it has meant a strong finish in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings. Last year, Clint Bowyer won and was third in the championship. Before that, Kevin Harvick and Ryan Newman took the checkered flags; Harvick went on to a fourth-place championship finish in 2006, and Newman was sixth in 2005. Kurt Busch, however, is the only man to have won the Sylvania 300 and the Sprint Cup in the same season.Contributing Editor
