After last week’s debacle at Indy, the last thing NASCAR wanted to do was battle the weather, but unfortunately that’s the one thing they can’t control. Rain washed out both practices on Saturday, and caused a 41-minute red flag delay during Sunday’s Sunoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500. The rain delay actually turned out to add to the excitement at Pocono Raceway, however, as the two different pit strategies that it caused, split the field almost in half. Some cars pitted before the red flag, while others stayed out.Associate Editor
