The only way to suitably describe Sunday afternoons Allstate 400 at the Brickyard is, well, tiresome. Despite the fact that no one, not NASCAR, not the drivers, and not Goodyear, wanted to point the finger, someone, somewhere along the way dropped the ball on this one. The tire compound that Goodyear provided for the race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this year just couldn’t hack it, which led to a boring race in which 52 laps, or 32 percent of the event was held under caution.Associate Editor
