The golden anniversary of the Daytona 500 kicked off the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in style on Sunday. As practice progressed and drivers made one remarkable save after another, it appeared that the race would become predictable, the "Big One" crash would not occur and the cream would rise to the top. One by one, however, favorites dropped out with mechanical issues and in small accidents. At the end of the race, a rash of cautions kept the field tightly bunched and all bets were off.
